In 1971, a small group of business leaders gathered in Moultrie, Georgia, with $1 million in capital, a handful of dedicated employees and a simple premise: build a bank rooted in genuine relationships and steadfast community support. 

Fifty-five years later, that small-town venture has grown into a $28 billion company headquartered in Atlanta, backed by nearly 3,000 teammates across five Southeastern states, with a reach that extends nationwide. 

While our growth is reflected in numbers, our true history is defined by the people behind them — our customers, teammates and the communities we call home.
