Hunger and food insecurities are serious problems affecting millions of Americans each year. Ameris Bank is honored to help the fight against hunger in our Southeast footprint with our Helping Fight Hunger initiative. Each year in October, Ameris Bank collects as many non-perishable food items as possible. A food bank in every town with an Ameris Bank location will receive the donation of goods collected at the local Ameris Bank office, plus a monetary donation from Ameris Bancorp. For our 8th annual Helping Fight Hunger Initiative, our goal is to raise 500,000 food items throughout October. Ameris Bancorp has also pledged to donate $100,000 to local food banks throughout our footprint.
“As a partner to the communities we serve, the Helping Fight Hunger food drive initiative is one way we help to make a difference for those who need it most,” said Ameris Bank President Lawton Bassett. “We are proud to see how this project positively impacts families throughout the Southeast.”
