Meet the Team
Chris L. Regas – SVP, Equipment Financing President
Holding over 35 years of experience in the heavy equipment financing sector Chris heads up our Equipment Financing Division. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, he worked as the VP for U.S. Sales with Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation. Chris earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Vanderbilt University. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida and the Board of Governors for San Jose Country Club.
Gary L. Young – SVP, Equipment Financing Credit
Gary has been in the equipment financing industry for over 40 years. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, he worked with Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation as the Credit Manager. Gary is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he received his bachelors of art degree in finance. He resides in Nashville with his wife Vicki and enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren.
Mike O’Hare – SVP, Sales
Mike holds over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, he worked as the Senior Vice President for Fleet Advantage, LLC and the SVP, Sales Director of Specialty Markets Groups for SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Equipment Finance Group. Mike earned a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Florida. He serves as a board member for the Deerwood Rotary Club and has served as the board chairperson for the Guardian Catholic Schools and Caddy Shack Charity Golf Event.
John Marino – SVP, Sales Officer
John Marino has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a vast majority of his experience in equipment financing. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, he worked as a Regional Manager for Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation. John earned a bachelor’s of art degree from St. Mary’s University and an MBA from St. Louis University. He has served as the President of the Board of Directors for Marianist Retreat and Conference Center, President of the St. Louis Chapter of the St. Mary’s Alumni Association and Chairman of Ascension Parish Archdiocesan Development Appeal.
Frank Young, SVP, Equipment Financing, Capital Markets
Frank possesses 40 years of experience in the banking and equipment financing industry. He has served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at First City Bancshares (Houston, Texas) and Cullen Frost Bank (San Antonio, Texas) as well as senior credit, operations and sales management positions with Associates Commercial Corporation, General Electric Capital Corporation, The CIT Group and Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation. At The CIT Group, he held the positions of Senior Vice President of Credit and also Senior Vice President & Syndication Manager, in both instances reporting directly to the President of Western Operations of The CIT Group. At Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation, he served as U.S. Sales Manager of Capital Markets where he was responsible for the sale of large customer transactions as well as the sale of portfolios to manage credit risk.
Dan Farrell – SVP, Finance
Dan has spent more than 25 years in the specialty finance and structured product sectors. Most recently, he was Managing Partner at DB Capital (DBC), an alternative asset management firm. Dan was the Chief Executive Officer of one of DBC’s major holdings, Intermedium Financial, where his role included forming, capitalizing and managing this specialty finance company. Previously, Dan was Managing Director and Head of Structured Asset Finance (SAF) at Wachovia Securities where he was responsible for risk management, origination, distribution and structuring of a variety of structured financial product investments. Industries he was responsible for included Transportation Leasing, Equipment Finance and Structured Commercial Real Estate. Prior to his role in SAF, Dan was Co-Founder, President and Chief Underwriting Officer of BluePoint Re (a Wachovia Company). Dan holds an MBA from Fordham University.
Vince Cornnel – Regional Sales Manager, Transportation
Vince is the newest member to the Equipment Financing Team. He has extensive experience in providing equipment financing solutions to a variety of businesses and is an expert in vocational equipment design and finance. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, Vince served as vice president, business development for Fleet Advantage LLC and as national account sales executive for Paccar Leasing Company. Vince earned his certified Transportation Professional (CTP) certification in 2015 and has a bachelor’s degree from Marshall University.
