What To Do with Your Thanksgiving Leftovers
It’s one of my favorite times of year, Thanksgiving. Between the delicious food and spending time with friends and family how can you go wrong? Each year I find myself saying the same thing: What am I going to do with all these leftovers? So, this year I decided to pull together some fun ideas on how to gobble them up!
HOST A FRIENDSGIVING.
A post-Thanksgiving party for friends will help you eat through leftovers, while providing one more reason to spend time with loved ones.
DONATE YOUR LEFTOVERS AND/OR UNUSED INGREDIENTS.
Not a fan of leftovers? Many food banks accept leftover donations. What a great way to embrace the season of giving, by sharing with those in need. Call your local food bank to see learn about their policies.
REPURPOSE YOUR LEFTOVERS.
Use your leftovers and extra ingredients to make new recipes. Here are a few I am excited to try this year:
- Sweet potatoes are a favorite of mine. They are the perfect combination of sweet and savory. When I found this sweet-potato spoon bread with caramel-pecan topping recipe and this sweet potato waffle recipe I knew I would have to try them.
- Pizza is a fan favorite in my home so when I found this Thanksgiving pizza recipe, I knew it was going to be added to the list.
- For those who don’t want to spend extra time in the kitchen after the holiday this Thanksgiving. leftover grilled cheese is the recipe for you.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season full of family, friends and a full stomach!
