Remer Brinson Joins Ameris Bank as Regional President for Savannah and Augusta, Georgia
Ameris Bank President Lawton Bassett announces that Remer Brinson has joined Ameris Bank as regional president, and he will assume regional leadership responsibility for the bank’s Savannah market and will develop and lead new market strategies in Augusta.
Brinson has over 38 years of experience within the banking industry. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, he most recently worked for State Bank and Trust and served as president. In this role, Brinson was responsible for overseeing the commercial and retail operations, treasury services, mortgage and correspondent banking sectors. Additionally, he served on the bank executive committee and executive loan committee. Prior to its acquisition by State Bank and Trust, Brinson served as president and CEO of both First Bank of Georgia and its publicly held holding company, Georgia-Carolina Bancshares.

A dedicated community member, Brinson currently serves on the University of Georgia Board of Visitors, the Augusta Economic Development Authority, and various endowment committees. Previously, he served as chairman for Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Bankers Association, Augusta Tomorrow Inc., Red Cross of Augusta, Episcopal Day School Board of Trustees, YMCA of Augusta, Inc. and Richmond County Historical Society Foundation. Remer earned his BBA in finance from the University of Georgia.
