Josh Johnson Promoted to Ameris Bank North Central Florida Market President
Josh Johnson has been promoted to market president for the North Central Florida market. Johnson will be responsible for building and strengthening the bank’s banking relationships and community involvement throughout the area.
Johnson has many years of experience working in various financial roles, and joined Ameris Bank in May of 2019 serving as the city president in Ocala. He started his career as a financial advisor for A.G. Edwards (Wells Fargo Advisors) and then transitioned to a Commercial Real Estate Private Equity Fund where he advanced to the role of vice president. Johnson then joined BBVA Compass, advancing to the role of Senior Vice President - Corporate Relationship Manager. During his time at BBVA Compass, he also served as an adjunct professor for Southeastern University’s business department.

Johnson is very active within the local community and is currently serving as president for the Ocala Silver Springs Rotary Club, on the executive leadership team for the American Heart Association, a board member of Young Life of Marion County, and volunteers at Meadowbrook Church. He previously was on the executive leadership team for the March of Dimes.

Johnson earned his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern University, and his MBA from the University of Phoenix. He lives in Ocala with his wife Desiree and their two children, Joshua and Ava. When he is not busy volunteering, he is spending time with his family enjoying the outdoors, and he also has been section hiking the Appalachian Trail the past five years.
