When our neighbors and communities are food insecure, nearly every aspect of life, even beyond the immediate and obvious effects on physical health, is impacted. It makes it difficult for children to concentrate in school, and for adults to maintain adequate job performance. By helping to reduce food insecurity across the communities we serve, we are supporting job and educational success, which supports our neighbors in their ability to pay bills, save and plan for the future – all supporting their financial peace of mind.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our 50th anniversary this fall than to honor our founding values and serve our communities by fighting hunger. During our 12th annual Helping Fight Hunger initiative, a food bank in every town with an Ameris Bank location will receive the donation of goods collected at their local Ameris Bank office.

You can help! Helping Fight Hunger wouldn’t be successful without the support from our customers, local businesses and members of the community. We ask for your support. Please consider donating and delivering your donated food items to your local Ameris Bank branch during the month of October.

Here are examples of nonperishable food items we need:

  • Canned pasta (ravioli, spaghetti rings)

  • Canned vegetables

  • Canned fruit

  • Tomato Sauce

  • Beans

  • Soup

  • Stews

  • Pop Top Cans

  • Evaporated Milk

  • Cereal

  • Oatmeal

  • Pasta

  • Instant Noodles

  • Grits

  • Coffee

  • Crackers

  • Powdered Milk

  • Beans

  • Baby Formula

  • Peanut Butter

  • Rice

  • Instant Potatoes

Visit amerisbank.com/HelpFightHunger to learn more and read about how nearly 9 million food items have been collected and over $900,000 donated since the initiative started in 2010.

Thank you for your support, kindness and willingness to give, as together we help fight hunger within our community!
