Bill Lutes Joins Ameris Bank as Market President for Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida Market
Bill Lutes has joined the bank as Market President for the bank’s Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida market. Lutes will be responsible for building and strengthening the bank’s banking relationships and community involvement throughout the area.
Lutes has over 34 years of experience within the banking industry. Most recently, he was the market executive for the Tampa Bay region and director of specialty finance for City National Bank of Florida. In this position, he oversaw many divisions in the region, including, corporate banking, commercial banking, real estate banking, specialty finance (nationwide), private client group, treasury management services and client services. Lutes began his career at First Chicago and since has worked for SunTrust Bank (now Truist Bank), LaSalle Bank, Wachovia Bank, The South Financial Group and BankUnited.

Lutes earned both his Bachelor of Arts and his MBA from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. He is dedicated to serving his community, and he is heavily involved with Gracepoint, Tampa’s leading non-profit provider of behavioral health solutions, where he currently serves as Board President and founded the Andrew Lutes Endowment. Additionally, Lutes is a graduate of the Tampa Bay Partnership CEO Direct Class VIII and a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. Previously, he has been involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Deliver the Dream, March of Dimes, Museum of Discovery and Science, Caron Foundation, Junior Achievement of Central Indiana and the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Lutes and his wife Paula reside in Lutz, Florida with their sons.
