Ameris Bank Names Robert "Skip" Mullins Director of Special Assets.

Jacksonville, FL, Edwin W. Hortman, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of Ameris Bancorp and Ameris Bank, recently announced that longtime Florida banker, Robert "Skip" Mullins, was named Director of Special Assets. Mr. Mullins joins joins an experienced and dedicated Special Assets Team at Ameris Bank.
In making the announcement, Hortman stated, "Skip has a unique talent and ability in this specialized area of banking, and we are excited to have him on the Ameris Bank Team."
Skip comes to Ameris Bank as a seasoned banker with over 33 years of experience. He has spent the past 2 years as the VP of Special Assets for Mercantile Bank in Jacksonville, FL. Skip began his banking career in 1976 in the Operations Division of Interfirst Bank in Texas. During his 12-year tenure at Interfirst, positions included Assistant Controller, Auditor, AVP Credit Administration, VP Real Estate Lending, SVP Corporate & Commercial Real Estate, and EVP & Chief Credit Officer - a diverse and well-rounded banking career. Since 1991, Skip has been involved in Special Assets positions in Jacksonville, having also worked with Barnett and Sunset Financial Resources. Having attended the University of Dallas with a major in English, Skip is also a graduate of the School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin.
Civic activities include participation in the Habitat for Humanity Committee and United Way. Skip and his wife, Michelle, reside in Jacksonville, Florida.
